Think the iPhone's touch screen is big? Check out this monster from Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

BARCELONA--If you thought the iPhone's screen was large, wait till you see the 104mm (4.1-inch) 800x480-pixel face on Toshiba's TG01--a phone we've just spent 20 minutes coating in finger grease.
We first reported on the TG01 earlier this month. It's Toshiba's latest and greatest, uniquely featuring a 1GHz CPU from Qualcomm. For comparison, the all-powerful iPhone's ARM CPU runs at roughly half this speed, yet remains incredibly capable as a multimedia handset.
It uses a resistive touchscreen (boo! capacitive touchscreens FTW!), so poking little icons takes precision and additional finger pressure. Plus the Windows Mobile interface in its current form doesn't scream, "Hey, consumers, touch me," so much as it yawns, "Hey, business users, roll me out to your workforce."
But with Windows Mobile 6.5 confirmed for release later this year, we could find Windows Mobile 6.1 and Toshiba's slightly friendlier UI overlay replaced by Microsoft's new, more consumer-focused interface. Or Google's Android. Maybe. But don't count on it.
Other specs include 512MB of internal memory (with microSDHC expansion up to 16GB), Wi-Fi, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, HSDPA, support for DivX video files and Adobe Flash content from the Web.
It'll be out in the UK some time this year, all being well. Until then, browse our hands-on pictures of the TG01 from the show floor over the next few pages.
