Photos: Coby PMP4000 Series

The Coby PMP4000 Series (PMP4320 and PMP4330) are affordable, bare-bones, wide-screen PVPs that offer an array of functions, most notably--line-in video recording.

...and you can actually see our photographer's hand in the screen glare. What you don't see is me wiping the screen of the Coby PMP4320 with my shirt a few dozen times just to get all the smudges off the screen before the photo shoot.

The Coby PMP4320 is just less than an inch thick, making it awkward to get into a pocket. The rounded back of the Coby makes it a bit easier to fit, but no less bulky.

It's rare that a company actually includes decent-sounding earbuds with its player, but Coby really came through. They are really big, however, and will not likely fit those with smaller ears.

A/V mini-jack ins and outs are a big deal for a wide-screen PVP less than $300. The legs sticking out the back fold down into the PMP's body for storage.

Though the foldout legs are plastic and therefore susceptible to breaking off, they fold down flush with the PMP's body when not in use and do a fine job of stabilizing the player when you need them.

Keep your finger smudges off the reflective, glossy screen, and you'll be fine.

Navigating around the Coby PMP4320's menu functions was made easy by the large, intuitive icons.
