LAS VEGAS--CES isn't the only show in town this week. This year, as has happened in the past, the Adult Entertainment Expo--one of the leading adult industry trade shows--is happening concurrently with the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
AEE, as it's known, is everything you would imagine it to be: a collection of most of the world's largest producers of adult entertainment; a reunion of seemingly hundreds of porn stars; a chance for dozens of companies that make adult toys and other paraphernalia to display their wares; and an opportunity for fans to try to interact with their favorite stars.
For many in the adult entertainment industry, having their major annual trade show alongside CES is a boon, because it gives them a chance to see the latest technology coming down the line from the consumer electronics industry, and therefore to try to figure out how to tie their own products to the best new electronics. For example, one adult industry executive said that the 3D TVs coming down the line are likely to be a boon for the adult industry, as fans will be able to experience a more realistic kind of porn in the privacy of their own homes.

Like trade shows such as E3 or CES, AEE is filled with large booths that attempt to lure in attendees with fancy signage and unique decoration. This is the Jules Jordan Video booth, which has a prison motif and is called the "Pornitentiary."
At the AEE, one of the most common items on display are manual sex toys. This is a sign for the Real Touch, which, like many toys before it, claims to give men the most realistic simulation of sex possible.
For several years, some of the most famous--and most expensive--sex toys have been the "Real Dolls." These are life-size sex dolls that are said to have realistic skin and can be manipulated into many different positions. This is the Real Dolls booth, with a group of the dolls arranged in a provocative pose.
One staple of the porn industry is movies that are made to riff on non-adult TV shows or movies. This is a poster for a Hustler Video film called Not the Bradys XXX, a clear take-off on The Brady Bunch.
