Perfect Drink's smart bartender has plenty of tips (pictures)

Pure Imagination's Perfect Bake system used an app-enabled scale to help keep track of cookie ingredients -- the Perfect Drink system applies the same approach to cocktails. Click through if you're feeling thirsty.

Perfect Drink's scale is almost identical to the Perfect Bake scale, save for the way it's colored.

Like the Perfect Bake scale, perfect Drink features a rather basic-looking LCD screen with no backlight, making it a little tricky to read at certain angles.

The Perfect Drink app has a much better design, especially on tablets. First, you'll want to fill your "Cabinet," a feature that tells the app all of the ingredients you have at your disposal.

From there, the app can organize different drink recipes from its database by category, or by the ingredients you have on hand. Pick your concoction of choice, or try something new.

Once you've selected a drink, you'll tap "Build" to get the pour started.

The app will guide you through the preparation, with the scale making sure your proportions are in line.

Once everything's poured in, you'll add any extra ingredients -- sugar, lemon peels, or, you know, ice.

The app will even count the seconds down as you shake things up to make sure you get a good mix.
