Parallels Access makes using desktop programs touch-friendly (pictures)
Control programs on multiple desktop computers using an iPad-friendly interface.
Pick your machine
Once you've downloaded the client and registered your desktop or laptop computers, use the iPad app to pick which computer you want to control.
'Applified' apps
The launcher shows you a select group of software from your desktop computer, but you can add more programs to the launcher by hitting the plus sign in the upper right.
Add programs
Scroll through the list to add programs to the Parallels Access launcher.
Use desktop apps with your touch screen
Not only can you type in Word, you'll be able to use all of the functions of the program (such as formatting options in the Ribbon) by tapping them.
Control Access from the tab on the right
The tab on the right lets you see what programs are open on your desktop, open the launcher, access the settings, or bring up the iPad keyboard. Also note that I turned on Additional Keys (in the settings) to display important keys across the bottom.
The launcher for a Windows computer
The Launcher applifies your Windows programs as well.
