OnePlus 2 debuts with metal frame and beautiful design (pictures)

The OnePlus 2 is a sequel to the company's first phone, the OnePlus One. It will come in three different versions, one with LTE support for the US market; a global version that will work in the UK, Australia and Asia; and one more for China.

The OnePlus 2 will retail for a bit more at $389 -- which converts to around £350 or AU$533 -- for the 64GB version. The 16GB model will only retail later in the year for $329.

The design elements, such as the raised screen of the OnePlus One, are retained in the sequel. It also has 5.5-inch full-HD display.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and has 4GB of RAM.

The 13-megapixel rear camera of the OnePlus 2 comes with laser-assist focus just below the lens.

The 13-megapixel rear camera also comes with dual-LED flash, an f/2.0 aperture and a larger sensor for low-light shots. It also has optical image stabilisation.

The Alert Slider is a new feature that lets you set how bothered you want to be. There are three modes: all notifications, priority notifications, and no notifications.

The OnePlus 2 will use a USB Type-C port, and buyers of the phone will never have to worry about which way is the right way to plug a USB cable in. There's also a fingerprint sensor.

The dual-SIM card slot is located under the cover. There's also an embedded 3,300mAh battery.

The phone isn't the thinnest on the block at 9.85mm, but the thickness does have a reassuring grip to it.

In addition to the sandstone shade, the backplates come in bamboo, sandstone, black apricot (a type of wood, believe it or not), rosewood, and Kevlar.
