The original laptop from One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) gave developing countries a cheap, affordable computer and introduced the idea of the netbook to the developed world. Now, OLPC has taken the covers off its designs for a tablet computer that could have the same revolutionary effect on the computer industry.

Called XO 3.0, the touchscreen tablet computer is due out in 2012 at a target price of just $100. At the moment, the designs are still at the concept stage, although we do know that the company is planning to make the computer from a single sheet of unbreakable plastic. It will have an ARM chip inside and will be able to run either Linux or Windows operating systems.
