The Nikon D4 will be available in the U.S. later this month, but Nikon's flagship professional SLR goes on sale Down Under tomorrow. CNET Australia does the honors in the first unboxing.

The shutter button now sits at a 35-degree angle, so it's easier to press.

Ports

There are numerous ports on the side of the D4, including the built-in Ethernet port and headphone jack.

Top panel

The top panel features a 3.2-inch screen, an auto-dim sensor, and a thermal shield to protect the panel from getting hot when shooting outdoors.

Card slots

The Nikon D4 is the first camera to incorporate a slot and XQD card. There's also a CompactFlash slot.
