Why You Can Trust CNET Nikon Coolpix L830 sample pictures
For what's essentially an entry-level point-and-shoot with a long zoom lens, the L830 is capable of taking some very nice photos.
ISO comparison
These are 100 percent crops of our test scene. The Nikon Coolpix L830 basically has the same photo quality as its predecessor, the L820. Photos are best at and below ISO 200. As the sensitivity increases, so does noise and smeary details from noise reduction. Also, colors appear slightly washed-out and muddy from noise at ISO 800 and above.
What this means is in daylight conditions, you'll get very nice photos that are good for larger prints up to 8x10 or slightly larger. You won't want to enlarge or crop too heavily on shots above ISO 400 just because of the lack of detail and artifacts. However, for online use at smaller sizes, they'll be fine.

Dynamic Fine Zoom is a digital zoom that approximates up to a 1,530mm focal length.
43mm (Selective Color)
The L830 has a bunch of filters you can use when shooting and get a live preview. Here I used Selective Color, which lets you pick a color to highlight and turns the rest of the image monochrome.
