Citizens took to the streets with signs in hand today in outrage over the ramifications of proposed legislation before Congress.

Andrew Rasiej, chairman of the New York Tech Meetup and one of the organizers of today's protest in New York, calls on Sen. Chuck Schumer to give up support of controversial antipiracy legislation known as the Protect IP Act. According to organizers, more than 2,000 people attended the rally, held outside Schumer's offices.
Sara Chipps, one of the founders of Girl Develop It, an organization that offers to teach women to code and create their visions of the Web, tries to fire up the gathering. The following photos are of the rally and the march that took place later. CNET's vote for best sign: "Sopa-thetic."
