Motorola Home Gateway demo (photos)
Motorola announced the Home Gateway at CES 2012 and demonstrated how it helps connect home appliances for cloud-based management.
The Motorola Home Gateway is compact and comes embedded with technology for connecting to different type of devices and managing them.
Before: The mobile app on the phone shows the status of the desk lamp on the right, which is currently off.
After: With a flick of a button to turn the virtual switch on the mobile app, the desk lamp instantly turns on. The connection between the phone and the lamp was provided by the Home Gateway, over the Internet.
The mobile app also shows the current temperature of the thermostat and makes it possible to adjust the temperature of the house remotely.
Here's the video camera showing an image in real time on the phone. This works the same when the phone is elsewhere in the world as long as it has a connection to the Internet.
