From Matt Nava, art director of Flower and Journey, comes Abzu (PS4, PC), a game about exploring the gorgeous environments under the sea.

We Happy Few

Survival horror We Happy Few, (Xbox One, PC) from the developer of Contrast, takes place in a dystopian 1960s, where the horrible memories of WWII are suppressed using a drug called Joy.

I've been watching the beautifully hand-animated run-and-gun game Cuphead (Xbox One, PC) by Studio MDHR for some time now, and it's nearly ready for release.

Fe, the first title from Gothenberg-based Zoink Games, sees you playing as an adorable little fox-creature on a journey of discovery to save the balance of nature.

E3 2016 was the year of virtual reality, and even Harmonix (Frequency, Amplitude, Guitar Hero) is getting in on the action, with this glorious VR music experience (PSVR).

How We Soar

VR is going to be incredible for experiences we can't actually have, like flying as a bird. In How We Soar (PSVR), you control a phoenix bringing to life a fictional world as you fly.

Absolver (PS4, Xbox One, PC) is an online multiplayer game that's all about melee fighting on your quest to become an Absolver, focusing on real-time attacks, dodges, feints and counters. It looks utterly breathtaking.

Vampyr

RPG Vampyr (PS4, Xbox One, PC) comes from the developer of Remember Me and Life is Strange, and puts you in the role of a doctor turned vampire torn between his Hippocratic oath and new vampiric bloodlust. Awesome.

Styx: Shards of Darkness

If you're tired of all the same old video-games, stealth game Styx: Shards of Darkness (PS4, Xbox One, PC; sequel to 2014's Master of Shadows) tells the story of a wise-cracking, morally ambiguous goblin thief.

Manifold Garden (PS4, PC, Mac, Linux) is going to delight puzzle gamers everywhere. Set in an impossible, Escher-esque series of architectures, it tasks you with changing your perspective, literally.

Hideo Kojima has announced his own studio's first title, and despite backing from Sony the auter is in full creative control. Death Stranding (PS4, PC), starring Norman Reedus, already has a cult conspiracy following.
