Despicable tea? An adorable Minions cafe bursts out of Japan
The food may look pretty, but don't expect your taste buds to be awed.
Minions-themed cafe comes to Singapore
The Minions are saying "Bello!" to Orchard Central, in Singapore. The miniature creatures from the Despicable Me franchise are at the heart of a pop-up cafe that's open from now until 31 January. ("Bello" is Minion-speak for hello, if you weren't sure.)
Concept cafes
The concept pop-up cafe is brought here by the same people who brought us the Pokemon Cafe last year. Exclusive merchandise will also be sold at a shop accompanying the cafe.
On the menu: S'mores and Minion's Ice Cream
The menu includes a variety of desserts, including mango pudding and s'mores.
Caramelized banana
Bananas are on the menu, of course -- they're the minions' favourite!
Affogato
If you've brought your kids here and find yourself in need of a coffee fix, there's an affogato too. We're not sure why Mel's been put behind the glass though.
Minion riceball party
But if you came hungry, there's finger food to share.
Minions vacation plate
If your stomach has room for more, there are bigger portions.
Minions' great escape cream stew
Don't worry about the grumpy face sitting on top of your food. We're told the decoration is made of a rice-based wafer, so it's safe to eat too.
14 items on the menu
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. A total of 14 different items are on the menu at the Minions Cafe. They all look pretty, but don't expect to be blown away by the taste. Gru and two larger Minions made an appearance at the media preview.
The special guests and the waitstaff
Friendly waitstaff also wear a Minion-inspired uniform.
