LG's 2011 TVs (photos)
A look at LG's lineup of TVs for 2011.
LW7700 series
LG sells both plasma and LCD TVs, and in the latter category includes some passive and some active models. Its flagship "Nano" LED backlight, found on this series and the LW9500, supposedly improves LCD picture quality.
LW9500 series
LG's best LCD TV for 2010 has a slimmer bezel and overall design than the LW770, in addition to a faster 480Hz refresh rate.
PZ750 series
LG's higher-end plasma TVs get THX certification for both 2D and 3D in addition to a revamped Smart TV Internet suite and motion-sensitive remote controls.
PZ950 series
LG's flagship plasma TV, the PZ950 adds a "black filter" to the extensive feature set of the PZ750.
LV5500 series
This series of LCDs lacks the 3D of the other four described previously, but does have Smart TV and an LED backlight (no dimming). It comes in 42-, 47-, and 55-inch class sizes.
LV3700 series
LG's least expensive Smart TV with an LED backlight, this series loses the 120Hz processing of the LV5500 models. It comes in 42-, 47-, and 55-inch class sizes.
LV2500 series
Along with the 3500 series (not pictured), these sets are LG's lowest-end LED-based LCDs. The 3500s (available in 42-, 47-, and 55-inch) get 1080p, while the 2500s (22-, 26- and 32-inch) are 720p resolution.
LK520 series
LG's 520 and 530 (not pictured) models are the company's best CCFL-backlit sets. They both get 120Hz, but the 530 adds Smart TV. Both are available in 42-, 47-, and 55-inch sizes.
LK450 series
This is the non-120Hz version of 1080p CCFL LCDs, and comes in 32-, 37-, and 42-inch sizes.
PZ550 series
LG's midline plasma series, the PZ550 lacks the THX, Smart TV and fancy remote of the PZ750, but does have 3D compatibility and the company's NetCast streaming video feature. It comes in 50- and 60-inch sizes.
PW350 series
Available in 42- and 50-inch sizes, this is LG's least expensive series of 3D plasmas, and drops the NetCast found on the step-up models. We're not sure about resolution, however.
PV450 series
LG drops the 3D from this series of 1080p plasmas, which comes in 50- and 60-inch sizes.
PT350 series
We think the basic PT350 plasma models are 720p resolution, and we know they come in 42- and 50-inch sizes.
