Which phone's got two cameras, a shiny glass back and resists water? (Hint: It's not Samsung.) This is the LG V30, a phone that gives Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus a run for their money.
It's LG's new flagship phone, and the first in a long time with a vibrant OLED screen. (It's P-OLED, for "Plastic OLED", to be exact.)
And like other LG phones, it's got the company's trademark fingerprint reader / power button around back.
But unlike LG's previous G6 phone, the new V30 is slim and stylish, with a curved glass back and a shiny silver band.
Combined with the nearly all-front display, it's no surprise we keep getting asked if we're using the new iPhone X.
(Unlike last year's V20, the V30 doesn't have a secondary screen.)
The V30's dual cameras take some pretty great shots, rich and detailed -- and one of them has a wide-angle lens for landscapes and spacious interior shots you can't easily get with any other phone.
And you won't have to give up your wired headphones: Not only does the LG V30 have a 3.5mm headphone jack, it sounds fantastic thanks to a dedicated quad digital-to-analog converter inside.
The 6-inch screen makes the V30 a pretty large phone, and not terribly easy to use with one hand, unless that hand's pretty big. Still, the V30 can probably fit into your jeans pocket.
The polished metal band isn't easy to grip, and the rough edges around the USB-C port dug into my finger a bit.
The metal volume buttons have a satisfying click.
The phone's glass back catches the light beautifully, exposing the texture of the material underneath. Just a shame about that AT&T logo. LG sells an unlocked version for roughly the same price that works on every network.
No worry about accidentally smudging the camera lens when you reach for the fingerprint sensor! (*cough Samsung cough*)
We're seeing great battery life too -- it always lasts the day with some left in the tank. In our apples-to-apples battery drain test, we see roughly 17.5 hours, right between the excellent Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
One last shot of the water-resistant LG V30.
