Buster + Punch classes up the common light bulb (pictures)

The drool-worthy Buster Bulb from Buster + Punch might be the slickest-looking light bulb we've ever laid eyes upon.

Buster + Punch LED Buster Bulb

The Buster Bulb from British design label Buster + Punch might be the best-looking light bulb we've ever laid eyes on. Click through to check out this luxurious LED.

Smoke finish

The Buster Bulb comes in three finishes -- this first one, "smoke," is slightly tinted.

Switched on

Switch the thing on, and the "resin light pipe" that runs down the center of the bulb lights up.

Crystal finish

For a slightly simpler look, there's the clear, "crystal" version of the bulb.

Switched on

Switched on, it's a bit more subtle than the darker finish, which contrasts with the light pipe a little more.

Gold finish

If you're looking to double down on the golden glow of your lights, you could go with the "gold" finish.

The specs

Spec-wise, each fully dimmable Buster Bulb puts out its light at a color temperature of 2,700K from a power draw of 3 watts. Buster + Punch doesn't list brightness specifications, but at that wattage, I wouldn't expect anything more than a few hundred lumens -- good for an accent light, but not for a room's main source of illumination.

Steel fixture

Buster + Punch sells those dangling metallic fixtures, too. Like the bulbs, they come in three finishes -- here's the "steel" version with a smoke-tinted Buster Bulb screwed in.

Smoked Bronze fixture

There's also a darker "smoked bronze" finish that pairs quite nicely with the gold Buster Bulb.

Rose Copper fixture

Your third option is this "rose copper" tinted fixture.

Luxury lights

Fashion-forward lighting certainly doesn't come cheap -- each Buster Bulb costs £40 ($60, or AU$80, roughly converted), while the accompanying fixtures sell for £130 a piece ($195/AU$255). Buster Bulbs are CE certified for use throughout Europe, but UL certification is still in the works, and you won't be able to buy them in North America until that approval comes through.
