Layout adds another level of creativity for Instagram (pictures)
Instagram's collage app offers little in way of features, but delivers on interface and implementation.
Layout for iOS
Instagram's collage app offers little in way of extra features, but delivers on interface and ease of use.
Photo collections
Photos stored on your iOS device are broken down into three different categories. This is a view of the Faces section on my phone, and as you can see not every pic has a face in it.
Creating a collage
Tapping on a photo places it into one of a slew of layouts. You can add up to nine photos, with various layouts available.
Sharing
Once you've added your photos and picked a basic layout, you can customize the size and exact location of the photos.
Sharing
Naturally, sharing directly to both Facebook and Instagram are built directly into the app.
If neither service is of interest, the photo is automatically saved to your camera roll.
Photo Booth
This is the Photo Booth interface. The front facing-camera is activated, and tapping on the shutter button starts the timer. To the right is a picture count, indicating how many consecutive shots will be captured.
Post-Booth
After the Photo Booth captures its photo limit, the pictures are immediately placed into a layout for you to customize.
Layout from a recent trip
Even without borders, the nine photos in this layout from a recent trip to San Francisco still look good right next to each other.
Experiment
Another example of a layout created within the app. One of the photos is mirrored, or reversed, with the other two having been adjusted slightly in zoom level and position.
