Huawei's Honor 8 has liquid-smooth looks

Huawei's new Honor 8 is set to battle midprice Android phones like the OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7.

It'll sell in blue, white and black.

Huawei is pushing its Honor sub-brand hard, trying to spin it off into its own entity.

The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Its USB-C charger port is current with the new industry standard.

It's a slim phone...

...with two rear camera lenses and a fingerprint reader on the back.

Inside, it's powered by a house-made chipset named Kirin.

Huawei modeled the less expensive Honor 8 on last spring's P9, a metal phone with two camera lenses made by Leica.

Press, tap or double-tap the fingerprint reader to launch three separate apps.

It's a cool shortcut that's new to the Honor 8.

Both lenses together are meant to make photos more vibrant than the competition.
