HTC Desire
HTC introduced the Desire back in February at Mobile World Congress 2010, but it will finally be available through U.S. Cellular starting August 27 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $70 mail-in rebate.
Similar to the Nexus One
The Desire is similar to the Nexus One, except the Desire has HTC's Sense user interface.
Design
The solidly-constructed HTC Desire measures 4.7 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs 4.76 ounces, so it's not too big and not too small.
Navigation controls
Below the display are physical controls for the Android shortcuts. We prefer having physical buttons rather than touch-sensitive keys.
Left side
On the phone's left spine is a volume rocker.
Top view
The power/lock button and a 3.5mm headphone jack are on the top of the phone.
Camera
The Desire is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and flash. You get a number of camera options, including face detection and adjustable settings for brightness, contrast, and saturation.
Picture quality
We weren't very impressed with the picture quality of indoor shots. Colors looked muddy and the image overall was murky.
