The Samsung Ativ S sports WP8
Back in August 2012, the Samsung Ativ S was the first Windows Phone 8 handset to be announced. It will be available outside the U.S. at the end of November. Unfortunately, Samsung has no plans yet to bring the device to any U.S. carrier.
Microsoft's new mobile OS
The Ativ S runs on Microsoft's new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8, which features more apps, a safe-for-kids parental feature, and a customizable lock screen.
Groupon on your lock screen
The Ativ S sports the new WP8 lock screen where third party apps, like Groupon deals, can advertise its promotional deals.
A 1.9-megapixel camera
Above the phone's 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display is its 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.
8 megapixels in the back
On the back, the handset houses an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash.
A svelte design
With its 0.34-inch profile, the Ativ S is the thinnest WP8 device offering.
Getting to the camera
On its left, the device houses a shortcut camera button.
Under the hood
The Ativ S has NFC capabilities. Powering it is a 2,500mAh battery and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
