Matt De Lanoy has spent more than two years reconstructing the 31st-century world of the animated sci-fi sitcom "Futurama" out of Legos. Here, a wide shot of New York. You'll see notable buildings from the show, including the Planet Express HQ.
Not content to create just the surface of the city, De Lanoy constructed the underworld, too. The sewers of New York are a site for many of the show's key situations. Cool, yes, but you wouldn't want to spend too much time there.
Bender famously graffitied the back side of MomCorp's headquarters, a detail that isn't overlooked by De Lanoy. The caption for this shot on Flickr reminds us that the new season of "Futurama" started last week on Comedy Central. Get caught up!
The MomCorp building isn't quite finished in this shot, but you can see the work in progress. It shows how many bricks are required to build just one of the many buildings in the futuristic plastic city.
