Feast your eyes on the Huawei Mate 20 Lite's four cameras

Four cameras! Two on the back, two on the front.

That's the main appeal of Huawei's Mate 20 Lite. As the name suggests, it's actually the baby brother to the standard Mate 20 -- which Huawei has yet to actually unveil. An odd decision, perhaps, to launch the Lite model so soon.

The Mate 20 Lite is due to hit shelves in the UK in early October and will cost £379. There's no word on US or Australia availability.

The rear camera setup includes a main 20-megapixel lens, with an additional 2-megapixel one for depth sensing, letting it create those arty out-of-focus portraits.

On the front is a 24-megapixel sensor, and that too has a partner in crime in the form of a 2-megapixel depth sensor. 

You'll be able to shoot selfies with attractive depth of field.

The phone itself has a 6.3-inch display which looks bright and bold.

It runs Android 8.1 Oreo at its core, over which Huawei has slapped its own skin.

There are various AR effects in the camera.

There's no word on when it'll be updated to the latest Android Pie.

The Huawei P20 Pro takes excellent photos. I'm looking forward to seeing what this phone can do. 

There's a gold model, as well as black.

There's a notch at the top of the screen, of course.

I think the gold looks better than the boring black version.

A fingerprint scanner sits below the rear camera unit.

The phone isn't waterproof, so keep it away from drinks.

It charges with USB-C.

You should easily get a day of use from a full charge.
