Biography: Based in Sydney, Wendy is a freelance photographer with 30 years of experience. Beginning her career working in the music industry, Wendy currently specialises in photography for theatre, film and television. As well as portraits, documentary and photography for books, Wendy also produces her own art projects.
Wendy has shown her work in 16 solo and 54 group exhibitions since 1984. Her photographs have been shown in the Museum of Sydney, Australian Centre for Photography and Stills Gallery, amongst other others. Wendy's images have been accepted four separate times in the City of Sydney "Sydney Life" shown in Sydney's Hyde Park for Art & About. An image titled "Mark Hanging around The Beach" was chosen for the inaugural National Photographic Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra in 2008.
In 2001 Wendy was one of two official photographers documenting the historic events of the Centenary of Federation in Sydney and NSW. The NSW Centenary of Federation Committee commissioned Wendy to curate an exhibition and book of her work on the NSW Federation Towns as a legacy of these events. The exhibition was held in Parliament House in Sydney.
Wendy is also company co-ordinator and photographer for Pork Chop Productions, set up by actor/director Jeremy Sims. Pork Chop produces theatre, film and television. Photographs by Wendy are held in the collections of National Library of Australia, NSW State Library, Museum of Sydney and the Powerhouse Museum.
