TITLE
White balance, image quality, ISO, and continuous-shooting controls are clumped into a single button/dial combo control on the top left.
Though many dSLRs are moving shooting setting information to the main LCD and doing away with a top-located readout, Nikon retains it for its new models.
For those of us who can't shoot straight, Nikon introduces the Virtual Horizon display, which tells you when the camera's level. In the viewfinder, the exposure compensation readout delivers the same information.
Nikon preserves the same AF and navigation controls on the D300 as it offered on the D200.
The D300 will coexist with the D200 in Nikon's dSLR lineup.
Under the dust- and waterproofed hatch you'll find a full-sized HDMI connector, as well as the standard power, USB, and composite video jacks.
The D300's improved dust- and weatherproofing includes tethered rubber covers over some of its ports.
The D300's vertical grip (front view on top) no longer requires the huge insert that goes into the battery compartment.
