Pearl Mackie joins Peter Capaldi to take to the Tardis on its latest ride, starting 15 April.
Sci-fi sensation "Doctor Who" returns to television on Saturday, 15 April, on BBC1 for series 10.
Meet the old and new faces who will travel through time this time around.
Peter Capaldi returns as the Doctor, with a brand new companion.
This is Capaldi's third -- and final -- series. Capaldi has announced he will depart from the show at the end of series 10 at the same time as outgoing showrunner Steven Moffat. New showrunner Chris Chibnall will then debut a new Doctor.
Meet Bill Potts, the new companion.
Bill is played by up-and-coming Pearl Mackie, who has worked mostly in theatre to date.
"One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best," Capaldi said in his farewell announcement on BBC radio in late January. "I can't thank everyone enough. It's been cosmic."
The Doctor introduces Bill to the Daleks.
Mackie starts her first day of filming on location.
Capaldi and Mackie film the second episode at the City of Arts and Science Museum in Valencia, Spain.
The new season will introduce Bill's backstory.
The Tardis crew will encounter the usual motley crew of monsters and villains, including the Daleks and some decidedly retro Cybermen.
Oh, and Matt Lucas returns as Nardole. Great.
We'll be sad to see the back of Capaldi's Doctor.
