Simple 7-incher
The Dell Venue 7 offers a no-frills design, smooth performance, and pure Android 4.2.2 OS for a budget starting price of $149.
Girthy profile
Even though it's pretty lightweight, the Venue 7 has a thicker profile than some of the top 7-inch tablets. The inclusion of a microSD card expansion slot is always a plus.
IPS screen with great angles
The Venue 7 boasts a mediocre 1,280x800-pixel-resolution IPS screen with great viewing angles. It isn't the highest resolution, but it looks sharp when displaying HD video and text.
Flushed rocker
The volume rocker is flush with the left edge of the tablet (if holding in portrait orientation) and isn't easily found without taking a look to see where it is.
Dell Venue 7 and 8
The Dell Venue tablets come in both a 7- and 8-inch form factor. Aside from camera specs, they're internally identical.
Single speaker
There's only one speaker on the Venue 7 tablet, and it's located on the bottom edge. It goes pretty loud, but suffers from distortion when pushed to its limits.
