CNET Showcase: 3D (photos)
At our first CNET Showcase event, tech fans gather to check out 3D demos.
Welcome to CNET Showcase
For our first CNET Showcase event, we brought five 3D-product manufacturers to our headquarters in San Francisco on Thursday to demo their new gear for our audience of tech fans.
You can check out video of the event here.
The experts speak
Before the demos opened, Rafe Needleman (left) interviewed 3D experts Andrew Eisner (center) and David Katzmaier (right) about the benefits of 3D technology in the home.
Mobbing the demo booths
Once the panel ended, attendees quickly flocked to the demo stations to check out the hardware.
Straight from the source
Execs from the manufacturers (in this case, Simon Lee of Samsung), explained their products to the showcase attendees.
A tough sell
Some attendees cast a skeptical eye on the new products.
3D times 3
The NVidia demo station, shown here during setup before the event, had three large 3D monitors in a wrap-around configuration, set up for first-person gaming.
A gaming workout
Attendees take the game hardware for a spin.
Executive 3D
CNET Editor in Chief Scott Ard tries out the gaming platforms from Acer.
