There's a lot going on in the Las Vegas Convention Center at CES 2016, but if you need a bit of fresh air, there's plenty to see outside too.

Signs of Samsung

The Las Vegas Convention Center is pretty massive, but CES is even bigger. The show spilled out into the car parks, so let's take a wander around the booths where big brands show their wares under the bright Vegas sun.

Here, Samsung brings its considerable marketing budget to bear with giant ads all over Las Vegas and the convention centre itself.

Bon appétit!

This is the booth for Valeo, a France-based maker of auto parts. It was situated right across from the line of food trucks, and what this picture didn't capture was the annoying pitchman with a microphone standing outside yelling about "solutions" while everyone was just trying to eat lunch.

I Got an Early Look at Intel's Glass Packaging Tech for Faster Chips
Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
