Bosch X-Spect is a tricorder for food and clothes

The Bosch X-Spect is a concept scanning device that can determine what material a piece of clothing is made from. It can also take readings of food items.

The X-Spect can distinguish between two different kinds of materials, as well as their proportions.

It can also tell you what exactly that stain is on your shirt.

First it needs to take a reading on a clean portion of the garment.

Then you take a reading of the stain. 

Right now it can read four different kinds of stains. 

Then you can send that information to a Bosch washing machine, which has preset instructions for cleaning that specific stain type. 

The washer has preset for 16 different kinds of stains, and Bosch hopes to get the X-Spect to read that many eventually as well.
