Hyperkin Retron 77
This is the Hyperkin Retron77, a revamped way to play Atari 2600 (or VCS, if you're old-school) cartridges in modern fidelity.
See! We weren't lying. That's 1977's Combat, in all the glory of 1080p and an aspect ratio more appropriate for the 21st century. (You can output in the old-school 4:3 aspect ratio as well.)
Here's the Hyperkin Retron 77, two controllers and a full suite of games.
And the box is gloriously retro, as you'd expect from such a device.
Your eyes don't deceive you, that's an old copy of Missile Command, which works perfectly fine with the console.
The controller feels just as old-fashioned as you'd hope. Who needs a bunch of buttons anyway?
Here's the back of the console. Obviously, it's pretty simple to set up.
Another look at the system, controllers and games.
Once again: old game, new hardware.
The front of the console is about as simple as you'd expect.
A third (and final!) look at the Hyperkin Retron 77. No price or release date yet.
