Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 and 7
Amazon's latest budget tablets are living up to their name and setting the tablet scene on fire. Starting at $99 (£79) and $139 (£79) respectively, the Fire HD 6 and Fire HD 7 are two of the most feature-rich budget models.
Redefining small
The Amazon Fire HD 6 is shown on top of the Fire HD 7. The 6-inch slate is super easy to handle in one hand and extremely portable.
Equal, but different
Despite the 1-inch size difference, both Fire HD tablets sport the same thickness.
Clear screen, full HD resolution, can't lose
The Fire HD 7 has a brighter screen than the Fire HD 6, but both have a 1,280x800-pixel resolution -- an average spec for tablets in their price range.
Ports on top
The top edges of the tablets house the power button and micro-USB port.
Smaller and dimmer
Though they don identical specs, the Fire HD 6 has a dimmer screen than the 7-incher.
Matching bezels
In addition to their matching specs, the Fire HD 6 and 7 rock matching bezel widths.
Dolby enhanced speakers
Amazon Fire tablets are equipped with some of the best speakers you'll find on a slate. Powered by Dolby Audio technology, the speakers produce clear and crisp audio.
Widescreen and wide viewing angles
The tablets feature a typical 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning you'll see some letterboxing when reading magazines.
All the colors!
Well, not exactly all of the colors. The Amazon Fire HD 6 and 7 both come in five different colors.
Just in case
There are also proprietary cases for the Fire HD tablets, in case you want to add a touch of color in a different way.
Origami in action
The cases can stand up in portrait or landscape orientation.
