Alcatel's new handset isn't stuffed with the best kit around -- its 720p screen resolution isn't impressing anybody! -- but it's got a neat glass and metal design which I think looks pretty cool.
It's called the Shine Lite. There isn't currently a non-lite Shine, so the naming doesn't really make much sense.
This 5-inch Android Marshmallow handset will go on sale across Europe and the US (no word on Australia yet) towards the end of the year. Alcatel didn't give a price for the phone, but did say it'd be under 200 euros, so that'll be below $225.
Glass features on the front and back, with a metal frame around the edge. It feels like a premium phone to hold.
The 5-inch screen has a 720p resolution, which is disappointingly low for a display this big. Even at this affordable price, I'd expect to see a full-HD screen.
It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. And there's a 13-megapixel camera on the back with a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
There are touch-sensitive navigation keys below the screen.
You can choose from one of three colours.
