The Acer Iconia A3 boasts a 10-inch display with specs comparable to the iPad. Crucially, though, it's going to arrive with a more affordable price tag.
BERLIN -- We're over in Germany for the IFA technology showcase. Right now it's the turn of Acer with its Iconia A3. It's a 10-inch Android tablet with a quad-core processor and at 249 euros, it's pretty reasonably priced.

There are no frilly additions to the A3's design. Its plain plastic design won't suit everyone, but its affordable price goes some way to making up for it.

It has a 1,280x800-pixel resolution. That's far from impressive, but it's more than enough for the absolutely essential tasks.

The quad-core processor runs at 1.2GHz. That's plenty of power for all of your everyday tasks.

It's pretty slim, but at 10 inches, you're not going to squeeze it into your jeans.

There's an HDMI port on the side so you can hook it up to your bigger telly for some full-screen gaming.

There's a 5-megapixel camera lurking on the back. That should do the job nicely for Facebook snaps.
