How the Event Opal speakers were developed: interview

Peter Freedman, the owner of the company that makes both Rode microphones and Event speakers, stopped by for a chat about how the company developed its new Opal monitor speakers.

Following the interview, Peter pulled out his favourite demonstration disc — Michael Jackson's This Is It. Even from outside of the speakers' sweet spot, and with the volume cranked up to 11, the Opal speakers reproduced sound from across the spectrum with amazing clarity. Listening to the speakers, we were amazed by how much detail we picked up in songs that we've been familiar with for far too long.
