Compared to iPads and other high-profile portable tablets, Amazon's lineup of Fire Tablets are strong values from the get-go -- and during Amazon's Prime Day sale, the deals get even sweeter. That sale doesn't officially kick off until tomorrow (Tuesday, July 11), but that hasn't stopped Amazon from listing a large number of its own devices on sale as early specials, Fire Tablets included. That includes a record-tying low price for the Fire HD 10, one of our favorite tablets of 2023.

We'll keep a close eye on the deals as Prime Day unfolds, but for now, here are the best early specials on Fire Tablets that we've spotted. We'll update this post regularly as deals expire and others kick off.

Best Prime Day 2023 Fire Tablet deals

The 10-inch version of Amazon's tablet offers a soft-touch design, a brighter display, wireless or USB-C charging, and two storage options: 32 or 64GB. Both are on sale as early Prime Day specials -- $75 for the 32GB version (50% off) or $90 for the 64GB version (53% off). If it were me, I'd spend the extra $15 to double the internal storage, but either of these is a steal.

Amazon's newest Fire tablet is the Fire Max 11, and this is the first time we've seen it on sale, with the 64GB version down to $150 and the 128GB version down to $200. Either way, you're saving $80 on a next-gen device with an 11-inch screen, a faster processor, improved cameras, stylus support, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Just keep in mind that there's one big difference between the 64 and 128GB models -- the 64GB model comes with lockscreen ads, and the 128GB model does not. With more storage and fewer ads, the 128GB model is the one that'd tempt me, but both are good deals on a relatively new piece of tech.

It isn't as high-powered as Amazon's larger, newer devices, but if you just want the cheapest Fire tablet you can get on Prime Day, the perfectly competent Fire 7 is marked down to just $40. Upgraded last year with a faster processor than previous-gen 7-inch Fire tablets, as well as USB-C charging and up to 10 hours of battery life, it's a perfect pick if you just need a simple secondary device for browsing, streaming, work from home Zoom calls, or to help you keep up with email and social media. The 16GB of storage isn't a lot, but you can expand on that with a MicroSD card if needed, which is a nice feature.

The Fire 7 wasn't the only Amazon tablet to get an upgrade in 2022 -- the Fire HD 8 was re-released, too, with a faster processor, better battery life, and optional colors like rose and denim for the casing. Usually priced at $100, you can score a 32GB model for $55 right now as an early Prime Day special. Bump that up to $70 if you'd prefer a model without lockscreen ads.

Amazon bills the 2022 version of the Fire 7 Kids tablet as the most popular 7-inch kids tablet that it sells, and it's got a spot on our list of the best kids tablets, period. With a full suite of parental controls including time limits and age filters, plus a colorful, kid-friendly design that can handle more than a few drops, it's a nice option if you're looking to outfit your family with some new tech -- and we love that the 7-inch model is the perfect size for e-reading. You'll find other Fire Kids tablets on sale for Prime Day, too, but this one has the biggest discount by percentage, with a 54% price cut bringing the cost all the way down to $60.
