Time editor to head CNN

Walter Isaacson, the former managing editor of Time magazine, has been named chairman and chief executive of CNN News Group, a division of AOL Time Warner. In the new position, Isaacson will oversee CNN's flagship news operations, including CNN/US, CNN Headline News, CNNfn, and CNN International. Isaacson will report to Jaime Kellner, who was recently appointed head of all AOL Time Warner TV operations including Turner Broadcasting and the WB network. Philip I. Kent, president and chief operation office of CNN News Group, and Eason Jordan, chief news executive, will report to Isaacson.
