Happy Cyber Monday, everyone! Just as Black Friday revealed some surprisingly good deals, so has today turned out to be a fine time to get your holiday shopping done -- all from the comfort of your keyboard.
Below I've rounded up my favorite CM picks (any of which could sell out at any time, sorry to say), though be sure to check out CNET's much more comprehensive as well as CNET's own Deals page here.
OBLIGATORY ROKU DEAL Is there a TV left in America that hasn't yet been made "smart" by the addition of a streaming media box or stick? If you've got one of the stragglers, Roku is offering three free months of Hulu Plus and 60 free days of Rdio when you buy a Roku product. Best bets: the Roku LT, on sale for $29.99, and the Roku Streaming Stick, on sale for $39.99.
EARBUDS In-ear headphones remain my listening system of choice, as they isolate outside noise and stay comfortable (for me, anyway) longer than on-ear/over-the-ear 'phones. Today only, and while supplies last, Daily Steals has the Logitech Ultimate Ears 350vi/350vm headset for $10 shipped. Both versions feature in-line controls, though the 350vi was built with iDevices in mind, the 350vm for Android. (Note that the controls on the latter may not work with all Android devices.)
DRONES If you love drones the way I love drones, well, most of your friends and family probably wish you'd shut up about them already. But they're so cool! Anyway, if you're looking for a deal, StackSocial has discounts on a bunch of popular quad-copters -- and you can bag an extra 10 percent off any of them with coupon code dronenet10. (Can't afford that sweet Phantom FC40? The Panther Air Drone, shown above, is the next best thing, and at just one-fifth the price.)
SMARTPHONE The second-gen Motorola Moto X is a seriously sweet phone , offering oodles of advanced features -- including customization options not available on any other device. Of course, you should always choose an unlocked phone whenever possible, which gives you freedom from contracts and the ability to switch carriers at will. Today only, starting at 9 a.m. PT, Motorola will offer the unlocked Moto X for $359, a savings of $140. You can also get 30 percent off all accessories, most notably the really slick Moto Hint headset (my review) -- a tough sell at $150, but pretty appealing at $105.
MOBILE CHARGER One thing I've learned is you can never have too many mobile chargers. And more power in the charger means more top-offs for your mobile gadgets. Today only, you can get the Poweradd Pilot S 12,000mAh dual-USB mobile charger for $19.99 when you apply coupon code K7YLXL49 at checkout. Shipping is free for Amazon Prime subscribers; otherwise pad your cart to at least $35. This compact battery pack can charge two devices simultaneously, including phones and tablets.
GAME CONSOLE, THE SEQUEL Whoops! There was a pretty sweet Xbox deal on Black Friday, but if you didn't jump, your patience has paid off: Rakuten has the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity Bundle for $299.99 shipped when you apply coupon code PAYPAL30 at checkout and pay using PayPal. That's $30 less than it was Friday. You know, if the One could play Xbox 360 games, I'd totally grab it. Le sigh.
TABLET MOUNT, THE SEQUEL In case you missed out on this deal last week (it sold out rather quickly), the TFY universal car headrest mount is back in stock, and you can get two for the price of one when you apply coupon code MTCHPSKT at checkout. In others, buy one for $24.99, get a second one free! And check out the amazingly high user reviews (4.8 stars on average).
ITUNES GIFT CARD, THE SEQUEL For anyone who's part of the Apple ecosystem, it's hard to beat an iTunes gift-card deal -- especially one like this. For a limited time, PayPal Digital Gifts (via eBay) is once again offering a $100 iTunes gift card for $75. It's delivered via email in the form of a code you redeem online, so there's nothing really tangible to give a gift recipient unless you print out the email.
Whew! Okay, that's it for me. Have you found any other stellar Cyber Monday deals? You know what to do: talk 'em up in the comments!
