Short Take: Tunes.com to offer music downloads

Music hub site will offer music for download from several independent labels, the company said. Artists include Julian Lennon, Frank Black, and the Samples, along with nearly 100 others, Tunes.com said. Labels participating in the venture include TVT Records, Mammoth Records, Sub Pop Records, Atomic Pop, and SpitFire. The tracks will be available for download via several formats, such as MP3, Liquid Audio, Microsoft Audio, and a2b Music.
