Short Take: MS files suit against reseller
Microsoft today said it has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against a Canadian computer reseller. Microsoft charges that one of its former resellers, doing business as Akran Systems of Ottawa, illegally loaded about 500 copies of Microsoft's DOS operating system onto PCs sold to the Ottawa Board of Education. The investigation that led to the suit resulted after the school board tried unsuccessfully to obtain licenses for the software.
