Short Take: AOL launches philanthropy Web site

The AOL Foundation has launched Helping.org, a philanthropy Web site that provides Americans with a fast, easy way to donate money or volunteer time to the charity of their choice. Helping.org connects users to more than 620,000 charities and more than 20,000 volunteer activities. It is completely nonprofit, receiving nothing from either donors or charities for the donations that are made through it, the company said.
