Power up Google Chrome with Extensions
Google has taken extensions to its Chrome browser and turned them into an entire software platform.
We're on a roll with Google features this week, so I might as well point out the basics on making your Google Chrome browser even smarter with Extensions.
For starters, you should really give the Google Chrome browser a try if you haven't already. It's always good to have more than one web browser installed on your computer in case a website is acting strangely in one browser, as things might sometimes work themselves out if you swap to a different one.
Like Firefox Add-ons, Google Chrome has Extensions, but Google is aiming to turn Extensions into a total application platform.
There are lots of simple extensions available like screenshot tools and bookmark managers. But there are also full-fledged applications on offer, and even games available -- yes, even Angry Birds.
Just go to Chrome Preferences, then Extensions, and Get More Extensions, and you're in the right place.
