Neoteris nabs new funding

Neoteris, a start-up chaired by Jim Clark, who founded Silicon Graphics, Netscape Communications and Healtheon, has closed $15 million in a round of financing led by New Enterprise Associates. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said its original investors--Clark and his Barksdale Group--also participated in the round. Neoteris said it will use the additional funds to continue building its services. Neoteris aims to simplify the way employees connect to a corporate network remotely, replacing the two major solutions used today: extranets and virtual private networks. In November, Neoteris launched its first products, dubbed EmployeeAccess and PartnerAccess. With the latest financing, the company said it has appointed Scott Sandell, general partner at New Enterprise, to its board of directors.
