Software company InQuira announced on Monday that it has raised $9.25 million in a second round of funding as a combined company, led by Sutter Hill Ventures. The venture firm will receive a seat on the company's board. Previous investors Partech International and Walden International also contributed to the round.

San Bruno, Calif.-based InQuira has raised a total of nearly $21.9 million. Prior to the formation of InQuira, a merger of Electric Knowledge and AnswerFriend, the two separate companies raised a combined $9.7 million in seed funding. InQuira develops enterprise search software that lets customer service representatives and customers receive answers to specific questions on a company's Web site.
