Google replaces buggy KitKat with another update
Nexus 5 owners, don't be surprised when you get Android 4.4.2 KitKat, even though the last Android update was just a few days ago.
Google's official update to Android 4.4.1 didn't have a particularly long shelf life, as the company began deploying Android 4.4.2 late on Sunday.
A Sprint changelog revealed the improvements, reported the blog GottaBeMobile. The update will be arriving on the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 phones, and the Nexus 7 tablet over the coming week. It's likely that the Nexus 10 tablet and other "Google edition"-branded devices will receive the update soon, as well, including the Moto X.
Sprint's listed changes involve what amount to minor fixes to improve the voice mail indicator, as well as unspecified software fixes and security enhancements. Some users have noticed a decrease in photo quality, and a louder maximum volume.
It's likely, although unconfirmed, that if you're on one of the Nexus devices above and you didn't get 4.4.1, you'll probably be getting 4.4.2 sooner rather than later.
