Any last tweets? Social media's final election thoughts

Election 2016 is almost over, but not without a final word from Twitter.

Social media is all about politics as the race for the White House reaches its final hours. If you need a good distraction from all the politics though, you can find a hilarious new challenge and a look through Durag History Week.

#ElectionFinalThoughts: Twitter users continue to speak their minds with less than 24 hours to go until Election Day. Social media has followed the wild race for the White House every step of the way, from Donald Trump defending the size of his hands to Hillary Clinton's "delete your account" tweet. As the campaigning comes to an end, the #ElectionFinalThoughts hashtag was trending across Twitter, with users making their last pitches.

Janet Reno: The first female US attorney general has died, at 78, from complications related to Parkinson's disease. She was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993. Reno's death sent waves of remembrances across Twitter as people noted her contributions to the Clinton administration and as one of its most "polarizing figures." Twitter users commented on her role in the 1993 siege against the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas, and the return of young Elian Gonzalez to Cuba in 2000.

#DuragHistoryWeek: At last, the durag -- also known as the do-rag or doo-rag -- gets the social media love it has long deserved. This hashtag was created by The Atlantic's Vann R. Newkirk II, showing off great moments in history of the skull-hugging head scarf. From Qui-Gon Jinn to 50 Cent, the durag has a storied history. What a week to be alive.

#DNCLeak2: WikiLeaks claims to have released 8,263 new emails from the Democratic National Committee, right before Election Day. The alleged emails accused the DNC of helping CNN anchors with prepared questions for interviews. Twitter users were criticizing the news network and Democrats of allegedly working together. A CNN spokeswoman called the news "completely unremarkable," as the network regularly reaches out to political parties for suggestions. CNET cannot independently verify the information in the alleged emails published by WikiLeaks, and it is entirely possible that someone altered the emails before they were publicly released.

Mannequin Challenge: The newest challenge trend on social media is to stay as still as you can. Teens across the country are getting in groups and setting up hilarious freeze frame scenarios in classrooms, locker rooms and hallways. Rappers Rae Sremmurd and Lil Yachty have done the challenge, as have the New York Giants and this impressive US Army gymnastics team.
