Veterans Day: Social media paid its tribute to veterans on Facebook and Twitter on Friday. Users were thanking those who have served their country. Facebook urged people to post about it when they first log in. More than 100,000 people have tweeted with the #VeteransDay hashtag.
#TrumpRiot: Protesters against Donald Trump's victory have not settled down. Police in Portland, Oregon, declared the protests there a riot, as the outrage continued to escalate and turned violent on Thursday night. Twitter users were calling out the protesters for the violent demonstrations. The president-elect addressed the protests on Thursday night through Twitter, calling the unrest "incited by the media" and "very unfair." By Friday morning, Trump toned down his anti-protest message with another tweet.
#BoldPredictionsForTheWeekend: Who knows what the future holds. Twitter is having a fun time guessing what will happen in the next two days after a whirlwind week. Some are pretty unlikely. No one dies on "The Walking Dead"? It's in the show title! Come on! This prediction though, may be the boldest of them all:
Nintendo: The NES is making its comeback. Nintendo nods to the past with its Classic Mini, a remixed version of the beloved 1980s console. Eager fans have awaited Friday's release. They're also on high alert on Facebook because of the limited stock. Here are some tips for your best chances of snagging one. The Classic Mini comes with 30 NES games preloaded on it and sells for $60.
Snapchat: The company began hawking its Spectacle sunglasses in a single -- surprise! -- vending machine on Thursday. We visited the "Snapbot" in Venice Beach, California, and tried them out. Facebook users are scrambling to find out how they can grab a pair and where the vending machine will pop up next. The sunglasses are already selling for more than $600 on eBay.
