Twitter is eager to feast on Thursday's holiday, while Facebook users are sharing a video of Justin Bieber punching a fan. Or should we say a former fan?

Social Cues is our guide to what's trending across social media. Here's what people are talking about Wednesday morning:

Happy Thanksgiving Eve: It's less than 24 hours to go until the US celebrates its annual day of thanks. For many, the day means watching the Macy's parade, the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special and football games galore -- oh, and I guess getting together with friends and family for one heck of a meal. Twitter is showing its interest in the holiday via trending topic.

Nikki Haley: South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, a Republican who criticized Donald Trump during his campaign for the presidency, is the president-elect's pick for US ambassador to the United Nations. Some Twitter users reacted to the news by defending Trump's selection of Haley, who has repeatedly denounced white supremacists and whose parents immigrated to the US from India. Trump's choice of Haley is in sharp contrast to other picks for top jobs who have been criticized for racist comments. Let's see what Trump thought of Haley back in March on Twitter:

#MyProtestWouldBe: With election protests still roaring across the nation, this trending hashtag lets people chime in on what issues important to them. Some discussed topics like animal abuse and the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Others had less serious concerns, like what time the workday should start. What would you protest?

Justin Bieber: Is it too late now to say sorry? The pop star was caught on video punching a fan in the face Tuesday while on tour in Barcelona. The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Bieber riding in a slow-moving car with the window down. When a fan gets too close, Bieber busts open the fan's lip. The clip is trending on Facebook, with many commenting what they would do in Bieber's shoes.
