Telechips plans to begin selling later this quarter an all-in-one Net linking device called the ThinPhone.
Priced at around $1,400, ThinPhone will feature a built-in modem and a fax utility. Telechips officials plan to market ThinPhone to users at insurance firms and telephone operating and equipment companies. The device has already received FCC approval, company officials said.
Companies large and small are readying plans to provide these types of inexpensive Net linking devices, however many questions remain about the feasibility of their use.
