Techmedia, Angia Unveil New Products

LAS VEGAS--The news here at Comdex this week isn't all about the megacompanies. For example, Techmedia Computer Systems introduced its All in One PC, a multimedia system that will feature a 15-inch monitor, an 850MB hard disk, and a 6X CD-ROM drive.

What makes the new PC unique is its form factor, said company officials. The All in One PC is only 10 percent larger than a 15-inch monitor. The single, unified form will be very convenient for users, said officials from the Garden Grove, California-based company. The PC runs on either a 100-MHz or 133-MHz version of the Pentium processor. The price of the unit was not available at press time.

Angia Communications is another company to unveil its latest offering at Comdex. The company showed its SafeSend PC-card adapter, which lets road warriors send fax or modem data over digital PBX telephone lines. The card eliminates the hassle of finding analog phone lines in hotels or other remote sites, said company officials.

SafeSend requires no separate battery or transformer to work. A switch on the adapter card lets users select the correct impedance match necessary for PBX systems.
