Sony forms Net promotion unit

Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment has formed a division that will focus on online promotions. Dubbed Sony Pictures Integrated Network (SPIN), the new unit plans to develop promotional opportunities for the studio's film, TV and home-entertainment properties. In addition, SPIN will manage the development and hosting for all of the official Web sites for Sony Pictures Entertainment. The company said it has appointed Ira Rubenstein, a Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment veteran, as senior vice president of SPIN. Jeremy Barnett, who previously worked at Viant, will become the unit's vice president of customer relationship management. Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment is a unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
